I have been working with adults, children and families for 20 years. I have a long clinical career working in community mental health settings in Los Angeles County, including Providence Saint John’s Child and Family Development Center where I managed a program that works with pregnant individuals and families with children under five years old. There, I supervised interns and trained therapists. In addition, I’ve worked at VIP-Community Mental Health Center, and completed my Doctoral Internship at Children’s Institute.
I have specialized trainings in perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, infant and early childhood mental health and trauma. I am trained and/or certified in a number of evidenced-based treatment models, such as Child Parent Psychotherapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT) and Infant Massage instruction.
I am heavily involved and engaged in a network with other professionals who also specialize in perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, including psychiatrists, marriage and family therapists, social workers, etc. I am a part of the training faculty at Maternal Mental Health Now. Additionally, I currently serve as the clinical supervisor at Harvest Home, a residential program for unhoused pregnant and birthing individuals.
I am affirming of marginalized identities and experiences. I acknowledge that mental health is influenced by many components, such as gender, race, class, culture, gender identity, sexuality, ability, power and privilege imbalances, religious affiliation and more. I honor and recognize the intersectional identities of all people. I affirm the many ways in which families are created and relationships are formed. Social Justice is a strong value of mine inside and outside of the therapy room.
I am deeply passionate about supporting parents and families. I believe that when we are able to process our own unhealed childhood wounds, we grow, and our children thrive. I aim to provide a non-judgmental, safe space for all of your identities and experiences to be explored and honored.
